The road to Prishtina

The mountains are green and beautiful. The road to Prishtina winds up the mountain and is bumpy, but not potholed. There are trucks going in both directions, and a number of sites with construction. The car ahead of me emits periodic puffs of black smoke. There is much dirt and dust in the air. Happily near one construction site a water tanker enters the roadway, slowing down traffic, spraying water from large sprinklers on either side, taking some of the dust out of the air and dampening the roadway so less dirt flies up. Unfortunately the mist in the air also means that dirt sticks to the now damp windshields of the vehicles immediately behind the tanker, as the driver ahead of me apparently discovers. He switches on his windshield wipers, and a rubber wiper blade flies off his car and onto the roadway in front of me. It has become clear to me that I am no longer in Germany, or even Serbia.
