BBC:
Gaza violence: Fresh protests expected after deadly clashes
…
Fresh protests against Israel are expected in the Palestinian territories, a day after Israeli troops killed 55 people in the Gaza Strip.
…
The violence came as the US completed the move of its embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, incensing Palestinians.
…
Palestinian officials said that, as well as those killed, about 2,700 people were injured in Monday’s violence – which they condemned as a massacre.
What sort of clash leaves 55 dead and 2,700 wounded on one side and no casualties on the other? Palestinian officials condemned the shootings as a massacre, but the BBC is, what, withholding judgement? „The violence came“ – is there a way to determine violence’s path or schedule? Can we know where violence may arrive next? What were the actions of the Israeli military when violence came? Did they attempt to resist violence, or were they helpless bystanders as violence killed and wounded Palestinians?
Naftali Bennett, Israel’s hardline education minister, had already put what the foreign ministry called the “murderous rioters” on notice. By taking part in the demonstrations, Palestinians were self-identifying as terrorists, he said.
